The collection contains a clipping from the Osawatomie, Kan. GRAPHIC and an Indiana Senate Concurrent Resolution, Jan. 28, 1994. The resolution, part of a multi-state effort, designates the 1838 route of the Potawatomis from northwestern Indiana to Osawatomie, Kan., as a Regional Historic Trail.

In 1838 the Potawatomis, about 800 in number, were rounded up and marched from northern Indiana to Kansas under armed guard.
